In 1994, when Don Buckner conceived the idea for American Manufacturing - a "virtual manufacturing" company it was "he, himself alone, a cell-phone, and an old pick-up truck."

In 1997, VAC-TRON Equipment, a division of American Manufacturing was created, and took the environmental clean-up market by storm.

Today, award-winning VAC-TRON Equipment has been named the 13th fastest growing company in the country by Inc. Magazine, growing by more than 7000%. Its success is attributable to Don's commitment to build strength, safety, durability and one-of-a-kind features into all of his company's products, and then to back them up with integrity and service.

VAC-TRON Equipment, which has more than 30 industrial vacuum products and more than 50 WET and DRY uses, has over 40 national dealers and 110 dealer outlets around the country, with new dealers being added in South America, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Don was recognized as 2000 Florida Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young, in conjunction with NASDAQ, CNN and USA Today, as a Young Innovator in Trenchless Technology, and the company has been named Industry and Business of the Year respectively by The Lake Sentinel and Lake County Economic Development Council.
